Watercolour

For many years I had avoided the use of colour in my drawings. Not because I didn't like colour, more likely I didn't have a  clue
where to start. After much 'good natured' encouragement from Estelle's dad - and fellow artist - Richard, I thought after all these years,
I had better have a go, even though I was still pretty much in the dark. Adopting the softly softly catchy monkey approach, I managed to make a start with coloured inks. Limiting my palette and building the colour layer upon layer I didn't make too much of a fool of myself.
My confidence and ability improved when I bought a Winsor and Newton watercolouring box consisting of ten colours.
Drawing now for colour, I would execute the work with a lot less detail and allow the paint to do the rest.
